Rome has everyday food markets from Monday to Saturday, a big Sunday flea market and a weekend farmers' market. Here is what is open when and which metro or tram stop is closest.

Mercato di Testaccio Medium · the local favourite, in a modern hall since 2012

- 💡 Tips: Lunch counters are busiest 12:30–14:00; many stalls shut by 14:00 on weekdays.

Mercato Trionfale Medium · one of the largest covered markets in Rome, near the Vatican Museums

- 💡 Tips: A cheaper lunch stop than the Vatican streets; fish counters Mon, Wed, Fri only.

Porta Portese flea market Medium · the huge Sunday flea market, about 1 km of stalls

Mercato di Via Sannio Medium · a cheap street market by the Aurelian Walls, near St. John Lateran

Campagna Amica farmers' market (Circus Maximus) Medium · a weekend farmers' market in a covered hall at the foot of the Palatine

- 💡 Tips: A good place to taste local products after the Forum.

Mercato Monti Urban Market Medium · a small designers' and vintage market in Monti

- 🕗 Hours: Weekend market of vintage, designers and handmade goods; days and hours not confirmed
- 🛍️ What's sold: Vintage clothes, designer pieces, jewellery and handmade gifts
- 💡 Tips: Check its Instagram page for the current weekend and place; Monti's shops are open daily anyway.

Not a market (anymore)
- Mornings: Italian markets are mostly morning markets and close around 14:00; Testaccio and Esquilino stay a bit longer.
- Sundays: only Porta Portese and the weekend markets run; the daily markets are closed.
- Left out: Mercato Centrale (a food hall inside Termini, not a market with fixed days) and Piazza San Cosimato (not confirmed).
